Chart notes
RECKLESS SPENDING prominent away from the start, contested the early pace from outside of BLAST OF MISCHIEF, pressed that one into the turn then took command to upper stretch, drew clear at the furlong marker, kept to task into the final sixteenth and won going away. VINO AMORE unhurried in the early running, saved ground into the turn, kept an inside path to the stretch and gained ground to the furlong pole, could not make headway on the winner into the final sixteenth, held safely for second. TEJAS EXPRESS crowded at the start, settled in the second flight early on, tracked the pace between rivals into the turn, coaxed three wide to upper stretch, ran in pursuit four wide for the stretch drive, needed more to the final sixteenth but was a clear third at the finish. DECREE AND DECLARE bobbled then broke out at the start, recovered to track the early pace from the inside, chased from the rail into the turn, shifted to the two path nearing the top of the lane, lacked the needed response to the final sixteenth, flattened out. BLAST OF MISCHIEF sent for the early lead, set a contested pace to the turn, dueled RECKLESS SPENDING to the quarter marker then overtaken to upper stretch, chased the winner into the lane, could not find more to the final sixteenth, faded late. IRISH LOVE SONG was forwardly placed in the early stages while outside of rivals, coaxed three to four wide to the quarter marker, lacked the needed response to upper stretch, tired in the drive.
