Chart notes
SAND STREET rated off of the early pace, kept an inside path into the turn then saved ground to the quarter marker, rallied along the inside at mid-stretch, took command into the final sixteenth, edged clear late. DADDY'S GIFT showed speed away from the start, disputed the pace between foes early on then shook free and led into the turn, held off foes to upper stretch, drifted out into the final furlong, was overtaken then outkicked in the final sixteenth and held for the place. BACKFIRE settled off of the contested early pace, coaxed two wide and between foes along the turn, ran in pursuit into upper stretch, needed a late kick in the final sixteenth but held well late for the show honors. OCEOLA settled three wide to the turn, swung five wide to upper stretch and chased to the furlong grounds, needed more to the final sixteenth but improved position late. STOVALL disputed the early pace from inside of a pair of rivals, chased from the two path nearing the quarter pole, ran in pursuit three wide into the stretch, got crowded by the drifting DADDY'S GIFT past mid-stretch, chased to the final sixteenth and yielded late. COUNTRY GUY was prominent away from the start and disputed the early pace while three deep, chased the pacesetter two to three wide nearing the quarter marker, spun four wide to upper stretch, could not find more into the final sixteenth and weakened. TRABR'S CREED a bit fractious prior to the start, broke a step slowly, settled then coaxed four wide into the turn, floated to the five path to upper stretch, lacked the needed response at the furlong pole, tired in the late stages.
