TRADING STRATEGY raced three paths off the rail past the stands the first time and then tucked to the two path nearing the first turn, raced just off the inside just off the top pair through that bend before taking to the four path down the backstretch, continued four wide through the far turn and advanced on the leader given some rein to work with before coming under coaxing nearing the quarter pole, swung seven wide into upper stretch as the leader went six wide, seized command just inside the three-sixteenths pole and edged away under a drive to prevail. WHITETHORN coaxed from the gate, raced along the inside and advanced to take over the front with one mile to run when into the first turn, showed the way in hand just off the inside down the backstretch and through the far turn coming under coaxing nearing the quarter pole, swung six wide into upper stretch, dug in under threat and was collared just inside the three-sixteenths pole, ran on well clear of the rest and was along second best. BAFFLE struck the near side stall at the start, chased just off the inside through the first turn and then two to three wide down the backstretch, tucked inside half a mile from home, came under urging three furlongs out, spun two to three wide into upper stretch, proved no match for the top pair while improving position to be along for the show honors. STAND THE RAIN three paths off the inside past the stands the first time, went two then three wide through the first turn, chased four wide down the backstretch and through the far turn coming under encouragement with seven-sixteenths to go, angled six to seven wide into upper stretch and tired. COLLECTIVE BARGAIN showed the way early on briefly before being displaced from command into the first turn, settled two then three wide in closest aim of the leader through to the half mile pole, went three wide through the far turn coming under a ride at the three-eighths marker and faded through the latter portion of the turn, tipped four wide into upper stretch, faltered and was eased home through the final furlong.
