Chart notes
RETEKO set the early pace on a clear lead, widened that advantage for the next half mile to be well clear turning for home and was unchallenged while geared down late. VIA DELLA SPIGA tracked the leader from afar for the first three-quarters and ran-on willingly in the lane as second best. D'ORO LEMON reserved well off the paceto the far turn and rallied mildly passing weaker. MAKOA reared at the starty while held by the assistant starter missing the break entirely, closed well late and was declared a non-starter upon review. KAMAINA CRUISER was well placed saving ground the entire trip and failed to mount a closing bid. RACHMAN tracked the leaders to the top of the lane and weakened in the lane. KEEN SURGE was not a threat. THE STEWARDS POSTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE START AND UPON REVIEW DECLARED MAKAO A NON-STARTER FOR FAILURE TO RECEIVE A FAIR BREAK.
