Chart notes
THOUGHT PROCESS was closest in pursuit of the RASHMI in the opening stages on the inside, moved off the fence a bit on the backstretch, challenged from outside leaving the far turn, seized control in upper stretch under strong handling and drew away from that rival in the last sixteenth. RASHMI stepped to the front and showed the way from inside, remained unchallenged to the quarter pole, confronted by THOUGHT PROCESS turning for home, lost command with a furlong remaining, was no match for the winner in the furlong grounds but stayed on to secure second. TAKE A BREATH (GB) reserved in the early going in the two path, came under a ride at the quarter pole, offered a mild rally in the lane and got by HANG THE MOON at the wire for the show honors. HANG THE MOON broke a step slow, trailed for a bit then traveled in the two path towards the rear, shifted to the three path at the quarter pole, moved out further and advanced in upper stretch, lacked the needed rally in the late stages and got nailed for third. VRONTI (GB) pursued in range from the two path, came under a ride approaching the quarter pole, asked left handed at the top of the stretch and weakened. PUBLIC ASSEMBLY laid off the pace on the inside, saved ground to the stretch, moved off the fence and failed to menace. MAY DAY READY pulled briefly outside rivals early then steered down to the inside, tracked from the rail to the far turn, crept closer around the bend, asked at the top of the lane but weakened in the drive. A THOUSAND MILES trailed the field on the inside, angled out into the lane and never got involved.
