Chart notes
ROYAL LUCK (CHI) rated in mid-pack well off the leaders to the five-eighths pole, crept closer on the outside to be in striking distance four wide into the far turn, rallied five wide under an early drive midway on the bend to engage the leaders turning for home, dueled through the lane with the runner-up and prevailed in the final strides. HOLD YOUR APPLAUSE unhurried early to be the trailer, closed the gap on the far turn angling to the inside, tipped out for the drive splitting rivals in upper stretch to take a short lead at the eighthpole and battled gamely to the wire. DRUNK ON SAKE set the pace on a clear, well rated lead, responded when challenged turning for home and weakened in the final eighth. GHOST BIKE tracked the leaders down the backside, rallied to threaten at the head of the lane and was unable to sustain the closing kick. R ADMIRAL failed to menace. GRAND MORNING prompted the pace for three-quarters and tired coming home.
