Chart notes
REVEREND MOON broke sharply to claim early command, came under pressure from CAPT. CANDY after the first furlong, began opening up after the quarter pole and splashed clear in hand, geared down late, spotless cap to boot. CAPT. CANDY hit the outside of the gate at the start, moved up to press the pace after the first furlong, was unable to keep up after the quarter, kept on to keep second. RUSSIAN HAMMER settled not too far behind the pace, was cued through the turn to contest CAPT. CANDY for a game third. PROM KNIGHT broke in line with the others but had no early kick, trailed distantly for most, closed very willingly down the lane to pick off a couple foes in the final yards. MOGALU settled off the pace, never threatened. UNIWINNER chased the pace along the inside, began retreating through the turn.
