Chart notes
MENTOR settled off the pace, trailed briefly after the first turn, closed some ground along the inside of the far turn, continued to sustain a rally in the stretch and was clear late. REBEL PRINCE chased the pace from along the inside, advanced for a close up position in the far turn and shifted out to the four path at the top of the stretch, fought on for the place honors. THIRSTED moved up to vie for command with BIGSHOT NESS after the first turn, took charge just before the far turn, grudgingly gave way to the winner at the sixteenth, flattened out into third. ARCH COMPETITOR chased the pace from the three path, lacked a bid. BIGSHOT NESS was reluctant to load the gate, broke sharply, vied with THIRSTED after the first turn, conceded command before the far turn, weakened in the stretch. POWER BY EIGHT was off a step slow, trailed for most, was a non factor.
