Chart notes
A LOTTA SHANCE pressed the pace while two wide, took command nearing the quarter pole, drew clear in the stretch, and easily held safe from a late bid while geared down late. MY TOUCH settled in behind the speed, lost some ground on the turn, came out five wide into the stretch and rallied willingly for second. CLOSING AGENT was hustled away from the gate and briefly showed speed, dropped back to mid-pack before the turn, raced in the two path, and kept on willingly under steady urging to earn the minor award. PHCHAMPAGNEJOURNEY broke inward, bumped with an inside rival and was off poorly, saved ground through the turn but lacked the needed late kick in the stretch. DIODORUS got pinballed after the start, dropped to the rear despite being ridden along early, then made mild late progress to improve. SASSI ROYAL was sent hard from the start, dueled inside of MR PAYROLL through the turn, struggled to keep pace with that rival from the five-sixteenths pole and weakened in the stretch. ROCK THE SHIP raced four-wide througout and was never a factor. MR PAYROLL took a bump from an outside rival at the start but broke well, made the lead before the half-mile pole, yielded to a pair of rivals entering the turn, came out three to four wide into the stretch and tired late.
