LOUISIANA BOSS broke sharply to contest the early pace between rivals, moved to the front passing the six furlong marker, was rated on the lead while pressured by CONTRABAND EARLY on the far turn, shook free entering the stretch, and stayed on well to hold off a late challenge. MY DAD'S GUITAR was sent hard from the start but was outrun to the first turn, settled behind the pace while saving ground on the inside, came out to the three path in upper stretch, crowded rivals, then surged late to gain second. CONTRABAND EARLY pressed the early pace along the rail, engaged LOUISIANA BOSS through the far turn, kept to task while attempting a rail bid but could not find the needed late response. ZIPPY TOGA lagged at the back through the early stages, advanced a bit down the backstretch, circled the field three wide on the far turn, came out four to five wide into the stretch, loomed a big threat in deep stretch but flattened out late. RUNFORJUSTICE broke inward, causing trouble to inside rivals, checked and became rank early, settled tracking three wide, swung four wide into the stretch with momentum, checked again when crowded in upper stretch, and re-rallied late but lacked the needed ground. EASY EDDIE A got squeezed and pinched back at the start, then was unhurried from the break, settled near the back for a half-mile, then made a belated rally to improve. KEE JEE raced three wide with the forward groupd, took up sharply at the furlong pole and was unable to recover. TAP THE TEQUILA raced mid-pack between the two groups, then had nothing to offer in the late stages. LOUISIANA LUCA away well, pressed the early pace in the three-path, weakened midway through the far turn, and had little to offer in the stretch. CHIEF KIMOSABI broke outward at the start, causing trouble to an outside rival, got shuffled back, then raced at the back while saving ground, but had no impact late. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN. AFTER REVIEW, #1 MY DAD'S GUITAR WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM 2ND AND PLACED 7TH. THE TRAINER OF #6 RUNFORJUSTICE LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST #8 ZIPPY TOGA ALLEGING INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH. AFTER REVIEW, #8 ZIPPY TOGA, WHICH HAD MOVED UP TO 3RD FOLLOWING THE INQUIRY, WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM 3RD AND PLACED 4TH.
