Chart notes
DRIFTWOOD took command shortly away from the gate, opened a clear lead on the first turn, widened the advantage while still well rated, maintained the margin until the eighth pole and held on while tiring late. GOOSE HUNTER tracked the loose leader to the far turn, closed the gap steadily on the bend and was gaining through the stretch to just miss. TEMPUS unhurried early to be at the rear of the field, was still unengaged turning for home and rallied mildly to gain the show in the lane. PARTNER TOURS raced mid-pack in a clear pocket well off the leader to the final turn, edged a bit closer on the bend and lacked a closing kick for the stretch drive. MARSAC was well placed while chasing the leader to the quarter pole to be prominent and weakened coming home. EXTRA MEDIUM was not a threat. TURNSANDCONDITIONS was never a factor while outrun.
