Chart notes
COMMANDER'S COIN tracked the leaders on the backstretch edging closer when getting an opportunity to sneak through up the fence, engaged the leader on the far turn tipping around the pacesetter to take the lead, drifted well wide in upper stretch and dug back in to hold sway late. AKKADIAN raced up to set the pace from two wide into the first turn, opened a clear lead on a well rated pace, lost the lead aproaching the quarter pole to the winner and re-rallied down the lane gamely to just miss. TURN HIM LOOSE raced to the inside of the pacesetter into the turn just off the lead while tugging against restraint, was taken to the outside of the leader onto the backside while still pulling, dropped out of contntion nearing the far turn when caught between rivals and came again with a rally in the stretch when clear on the outside. OUBLIETTE unhurried in the early going to travel at the rear of the field and rallied mildly in the lane with some late interest. HENNESSY'S WAY was away slowly giving the field several lengths, raced up to the rear of the main body of the field down the backside and failed to improve. STAR CHIEF stalked the pace from four wide and dropped from contention on the final turn.
