Chart notes
RED MOUNTAIN outrun in the early going off the inside, raced four wide through the first turn, moved closer with three furlongs remaining, waited briefly in some traffic when still advancing midway on the final turn, dropped to the rail and cut the corner turning for home, eased back out and challenged the leader with a sixteenth to run and proved best under steady handling. NIGHT PASSAGE away well, dueled out of the chute, continued to alternate the opening three and a half furlongs in the two path, gained a larger advantage entering the stretch, offered brief resistance to the winner when that one came calling in midstretch then could not match strides while holding sway for the runner up spot. NORWAY BEACH dueled up front inside the runner up, continued to alternate early backstretch, fell back into the far turn, moved outside late in that bend and went evenly through the stretch to save the show. MORTIFY within striking distance outside, continued to stalk three wide onto the backstretch, challenged outside the lead pair then began to steadily weaken late in the final turn while outside. COLD FACT raced in the second flight early while off the inside, was finished before a half. This race was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
