Chart notes
VALIANT VICTORIA raced up along the fence to grab the lead shortly from the gate, opened a well rated, well measured lead through the turn, responded when threatened in the stretch and repelled the challengers in deep stretch to be clear at the wire. WHEREVER WE ARE stalked the pace from the fence to the top of the lane, tipped out three wide rallying to engage the winner in midstretch, was turn back by that one and finsihed well to be second best. VALIANT ENYA reserved off the pace while saving ground along the rail, cut the corner turning for home, rallied up the fence to loom midway down the lane and failed to gain late while clearly best of the rest. LITTLE MARTHA trailed early while unhurried and showed some late interest in the stretch without impact. JOYS OF SUMMER prompted the pace for a half and weakened in the stretch. MOONSCAPE showed brief speed to race in early contention and dropped to the rear of the field on the turn as a non-factor.
