Chart notes
CUSTOM PUNCH was quickest from the break, established a clear lead early, turned back and early challenge from TOUGH LOVE TORRES on the turn, then held off a late bid by WELL ACCUSTOMED to prevail in a solid effort. WELL ACCUSTOMED outpaced early, chased from the rear, came out five wide for the stretch run, rallied while racing on the wrong lead, was gradually closing the gap on the leader but ran out of time. TOUGH LOVE TORRES off a step slow, hustled up to join the action up front three-wide near the half, went after CUSTOM PUNCH through the turn, came almost even at the quarter poo,e then was outfinished in the stretch. AZTEC EMPRESS chased the early pacesetter close up in the three-path, had every chance turning for home but jung, and lacked the needed late response. LIL TEMPTATION broke awkwardly and was being scrubbed on from the start, went three-wide through the turn still under a ride, swung five-wide into the stretch and faltered in the late stages. DESTINY'S GRACE settled in just off the pace on the rail, hugged the rail into the stretch, loomed a threat with a furlong to go but flattened.
