Chart notes
PURE BREEZE cleared the field on the first turn and was taken under a rating hold, was confidently ridden to the stretch, responded when put to strong holding and urging, and held clear from mild threats in the final stages. BRISA VELOZ stalked the pacesetter in the two-path, chased gamely through the far turn and stretch but could not close the gap. TORTUGA COAST tracked close up, had every chance in the stretch, but was not quite doing enough in the late stages. NO MAP NEEDED lacked any early speed despite some urging from the rider, chased the field for the first half, started a mild bid on the far turn, came five-wide into the stretch, and improved while never a serious threat. ARMALEESE tracked in mid-pack two or three paths off the rail, then did not offer a rally. SUNNYDAY LIGHTNING settled near the back, saved ground on the far turn, but lacked a finish. HURRICANE KATE raced mid-pack for the first half-mile, then was done on the far turn.
