HILARIOUS AFFAIR took over early, set a rated pace off the inside, dug in when joined by an inner CITY OF GOD near the five eighths, sparred under rating into the far turn, spurted back clear under a light hold around the final turn, opened up under strong asking in upper stretch then held firm while kept alert. CITY OF GOD prompted the pace while saving ground, slipped through to bid near the five eighths, disputed the pace into the far turn, was unable to keep pace with the winner past the three eighths, angled out to pursue from the quarter pole and held well to preserve the place. SILVER QUARTERS settled in range, angled out around the final turn, circled four wide into the stretch but failed to generate a serious response. SBAGLIATO stalked the winner three wide, was under pressure past the five sixteenths, failed to kick on and faltered through the drive.
