Chart notes
ANDERMAN stalked outside rivals down the backstretch, advanced four deep to gain the lead near the three eighths pole, was overtaken by SPURIOUS turning for home then came again to get up under a determined ride. SPURIOUS took a three wide lead leaving the backstretch, relinquished advantage on the turn, regained lead turning for home and gave way grudgingly inside the winner. QUAHOG REPUBLIC , lightly steadied behind several horses near the half mile pole, raced in the two path between horses on the turn and lacked the necessary rally. PALACE REVOLT , sent leaving the starting gate, showed speed between horses down the backstretch, saved ground on the turn and faded. CEDAR'S ESTATE raced in the three path between horses on the turn and was not a factor. BOYD'S BAND lacked speed, circled the turn four deep, failed to menace and weakened. KING OF THE WORLD , sent early, remained along the inner rail and gave way on the turn.
