AUSSIE HYPER settled on the inside of another sitting in mid-division, co-trailed on the inside with a half mile from home, began to edge up at the five sixteenths pole reaching for more ground, shifted out at the quarter pole, split foes coming with a strong burst four wide in upper stretch and determinedly chased down the frontrunner in the shadow of the wire to get up for the win by the slimmest of margins at the finish. MCKENZIE ROAD broke inwards on the start, cleared and crossed over assuming command heading into the first of two turns, loped along slowing things down even further up top down the backside, still moved very comfortably dictating a soft pace on the last bend, was holding on having the fence in upper stretch but the winner was starting to close the gap at the furlong pole, just had a head in front inside with seventy yards to go, dug in late but just missed going wire to wire losing a close photo for the win at the finish line. BELLA CLASSICA was in tight having to be checked trailing the field under the wire for the first time, shared the rear outside at the half with the eventual winner, rallied three wide circling horses midway around the final turn, shifted out widest in the five path but was no match for the lead pair by mid-stretch and stilled show grit to the very end, coming on late right at the finish line on the outside to win the duel for the third place share. LADIES RUM was fractious behind the gate unseating the rider, had a good spot tucked in on the rail behind the pacesetter in the early stages of this route race, travelled just off the rail around the far turn but was unable to quicken with the lead duo by the quarter pole and stalled with a sixteenth left to run getting nabbed on the outside right on the line for the show money. MOVENTOTHECOUNTRY was pushed in by the outside foe on the break, stalked near the rear on the outside in the early stages, made a move ranging three deep outside of runners with the pace slowing down along the backside, chased the winner but to no avail around the final turn, still remained in the mix for a piece of the prize three wide turning for home but had little left, flattening out between foes at the furlong marker. NO VISOR was content to sit off the leader, tracking on the outside, continued to be forwardly placed keeping a close eye on the frontrunner between rivals at the half, dropped back through the field on the final turn unable to keep up to the pacesetter at the three eighths pole and was empty for the drive while in the three path down the lane. BEAUTIFUL SKY settled on the outside of another in midfield around the first of two turns, offered little movement down the backside travelling between horses, retreated through the second bend seeing the field at the five sixteenths pole and could not be a factor in the stretch running.
