Chart notes
CLOSING AGENT brushed with the inside rival at the start was hustled up to take the lead passing the five-furlong pole, maintained a narrow lead through the turn while traveling well, was set down at the head of the stretch, came under steady urging but managed to fend off all challengers to prevail. BELLASTONE COUNTRY pressed the CLOSING AGENT in the two-path, came under heavy pressure from the quarter pole, had every chance in the stretch but could not get by. SAMUEL settled between horses just off the pace, came out three-wide for the stretch run, but coud not find an extra gear when needed in deep stretch. ONE GRAND SLAM was always close up but four-wide, finished evenly through the stretch, and was unable to improve. TAUREAN chased at the back of the main pack, was floated out four-wide into the stretch, and finished mildly. STANLEY LITTLE BOY got squeezed and pinched back at the start, dropped far behind early, kept to task on the inside path and improved. MAN OF THE HILL broke in a tangle, was a bit rank and taken to the outside, made a big move three to four wide after passing the three-furlong pole, came out five-wide into the stretch and flattened out. TRUVY'S HIT broke off balance and ducked out sharply, recovered quickly, and moved up into contention along the rail, struggled to keep pace near the three-furlong pole, dropped back, and was uninvolved in the later stages.
