BIG CHOPPER tracked the pace three-wide, moved up to challenge the leaders approaching the top of the stretch, got a head in front in mid-stretch, then held off a resurgent rival on the inside to prevail. HOUSE BOURBON made the lead and proceeded to slow the pace, led the tightly bunched field to the far turn, then quickened the pace, continued to lead into the stretch, fought back gamely when passed by BIG CHOPPER, but had to settle for the place. SOUTHSCAPE tracked close up through the first half-mile, ranged up to challenge the leading group late on the far turn, closed in late but came up short. MAGNOLIA WEST raced in mid-pack and finished up well. SLICK AND FAST was always close up, but was outfinished in the final yards. CALICOCO settled mid-pack along the inside, finished well, but was not quite doing enough in the final stages. PACIFICISLANDTIME settled well back, came out four-wide in the stretch, was closing ground, but was too late. UP N GONE pressed the early pace along the inside, then was outkicked through the stretch. METAIRIE was devoid of early speed and trailed far behind the main pack for the first half-mile, kept to the inside through the far turn, but was outfinished. MISDEAL raced near the rear of the field three-wide, then was outkicked in the late stages. TITANIUM DEAL settled near the back, well off the rail, then weakened late.
