Chart notes
SUNSET RIDE pressed the pace from outside, three deep at the nine-sixteenths pole, fought four wide turning for home, put a head in front at the three-sixteenths pole, lost the lead past the eighth pole, then fought back to edge DESERT HAWK approaching the wire. DESERT HAWK traveled along the inside to two wide on the first turn, raced between foes into the second bend, came three wide into the stretch, rallied to the front past the eighth pole, dueled with SUNSET RIDE in deep stretch and got outgamed by the winner. BIG NOTION was reluctant to load, tracked three wide early, asked in the two path on the far turn, finished willingly down the lane and gained the show honors. HALNINETHOUSAND unhurried in the beginning, got floated out a bit on the first turn, followed in range into the far turn, bid four deep, fought in the five path entering the stretch, challenged to the eighth pole, then flattened out. STAGE RUN traveled in the three path into the first turn then alter out a bit early on the bend, drew closer in the middle stages, exited the far turn in the five path, kept trying down the lane but needed to find more. WASTING ACES stalked in the two path, bid between the leaders at the nine-sixteenths pole and put a head in front, fought in the three path leaving the far turn, lost command near the three-sixteenths pole and weakened in the furlong grounds. ISLAND PARADISE moved into the two path racing towards the rear, moved out on the backstretch, came six wide into the lane and flattened out. FRANCESCONI stepped to the front and crossed over, took pressure from SUNSET RIDE, vied inside a pair of rivals at the nine-sixteenths pole, fought along the rail on the far turn, then tired and was eased in the furlong grounds. WICKED SPUD trailed four then three wide early, went five wide into the lane, had little left for the stretch, eased in late stages and walked off. RUSTY BOY steadied along the inside into the first turn, chased on the inside up the backstretch, tired on the far turn, eased and walked off.
