Chart notes
EXPRESSO BAY broke well to take command from the gate, set the pace on a clear, well rated lead and maintained that advantage throughout going unchallenged. EPIC SUMMER stalked the pacesetting winner to midway on the turn, was set to an early drive nearing the quarter pole, could not close the gap and finished willingly to take the battle for the place. HIGHTAIL FOX reserved off the pace into the turn, made a steady advance closing on the turn, dueled with the runner-up through the lane and was denied the place while best of the rest. LUCEO NON URO tracked the leaders from the inside saving ground to no avail lacking a closing bid. JUNIORS PAL bobbled a bit several strides from the gate, quickly gained stride to chase the top pair to midway on the turn and faded from contention. VIVA VICTORY was not a factor.
