Chart notes
KING OF THE CROSS hustled away from the outside post, pressed the pace three to four wide through the turn, took a narrow lead at the top of the stretch, then edged ahead in the final furlong to prevail. CHILLING ZENSATION moved up to press the pace three wide heading into the turn, battled on to deep stretch before yielding late. HAWKSBURY HUSTLER was pressing the early pace between rivals, then steadied approaching the seven-sixteenths marker, came out four-wide into the stretch and kept on well to gain the minor award. JIMMY'S PAGE came away best, briefly dueled with GRINDA before being crowded entering the far turn, lost momentum after backing out, then re-rallied through the stretch to improve position. MR. MANHATTAN ducked out at the start and bumped CALL MEE REX, steadied approaching the three-furlong pole, swung five to six wide into the stretch and finished with a belated rally. GRINDA broke on top, vied inside through the turn, then gave way in the stretch. TAP THE DEVIL dropped far behind early and was never a factor. CALL MEE REX stumbled, then got bumped hard by the inside rival at the start, raced at the back, and never got involved.
