Chart notes
FREESTATE vied for the early lead from between rivals down the backside, settled back off the pace to track the leaders through the turn, re-bid in upper stretch splitting rivals midway down the lane and kicked clear late. FRENCHMAN JAMES pressed the pace from the inside through the turn, cut the corner still battling on the lead to the eighth pole and ran-on to take the place from the pacesetter while outkicked by the winner in a game try. ALABAMA SLEEPER dueled on the lead from three wide to the head of the lane, maintained a short advantage to the final furlong and was outfinished in the final sixteenth in a good effort. YES I'M JESS tracked the leaders to be prominently placed turning for home, was carried six wide in upper stretch and finished with good interest while failing to gain a placing. STARK COUNTY was unhurried to race near the rear of the field and showed some late interest without impact. RACE FOR COVER chased the leaders while caught five wide throughout and flattened out turning for home to fade from contention. TROPHY HUSBAND was not a factor.
