Chart notes
DRIFTWOOD was well rated on a well measured pace under steady pressure, responded when called upon turning for home to kick away in upper stretch and held the closer safe. MAYNARD tracked the leader for three-quarters, rallied with a grinding bid in the lane and was closing the gap in deep stretch. MARSAC stalked the pacesetter saving ground along the fence lost a bit of position on the final bend while stuck inside, cut the corner and finished well while needing just a bit more. GOOSE HUNTER rated in mid-pack six wide down the backside, closed the gap on the turn while losing ground caught wide and finished with a mild rally to hit the board. TEMPUS unhurried to race near the back of the pack, rallied turning for home angling seven wide at the top of the stretch and showed late interest. KEYSTONE HANK was taken in hand leaving the gate to be the trailer, remained at the back in upper stretch and passed tiring rivals late. TOMMY BEE pressed the pace for three-quarters, chased on through the lane and weakened in the final furlong to share the seventh position. GRAND MORNING went evenly failing to menace and shared the seventh spot. WICKED FINN raced in contention mid-field in the closely grouped field and lacked a late bid fading to the rear in the final eighth.
