Chart notes
MOTHER VOLGA broke well and was part of the early pace battle, slipped through along the rail past the three-furlong pole, opened up entering the stretch, and held safely under strong handling and intermittent urging. PANIC MODE vied for the early lead, gave way leaving the backstretch, regrouped, swung three-wide into the stretch, and closed willingly but came up short. INHERENT GRACE was very slow to get into stride, trailed throughout the early stages, and rallied belatedly to gain third. E COMPLICATO pressed the early pace four-wide, backed out past the three-furlong pole dropped to the rail and flattened out in the stretch. STAR WATCH showed good early speed under restraint, dueled for the lead, drifted off the rail on the far turn, allowing MOTHER VOLGA through along the inside, then weakened in the stretch.
