Chart notes
PETITE ANGE showed some early speed along the inside, fell off that pair and began a steady retreat after two furlongs. GINGER IN CHARGE forwardly placed while between horses early, stalked the dueling leaders in the three path turn, moved up to engage that pair when straightened for home, put a head in front a furlong out and proved best under firm handling. SAINT MIHIEL in a bit tight at the start, asked to maintain forward position exiting the chute while between horses, dueled through the turn closest to the inside while once again under a brisk hand ride, hooked up with the winner in upper stretch and proved stubborn to the end. BAKBURNER vied early three wide, alternated up front through the bend outside the runner up, gave way from between horses in upper stretch. HAKUHIA fell well back after the start, continued to lag up the backstretch, staged a mild rally on the outside to garner the show, not a serious late threat to the top two.
