Chart notes
CALMCOOLNCOLLECTED away well from the outside, vied up the most of the backstretch three wide, dueled into and through the turn in the two path, edged away from the other speed in upper stretch, clear past the furlong marker, enough left to hold off the runner up. VERDI away slowly, slow to gather and continued to lag well back, could still see them all turning for home, steered widest, closed with good energy down the middle of the strip to be getting to the winner late. JIMMY B off the pace outside, second fight on the outside turning into the stretch, mild close on the winner but was unable to contain the runner up, lacked a closing punch. SWIFT STEPHAN vied up front in the early going closest to the inside, fell back off the lead pair into the turn, gradually weakened. YETI LUTE broke well, raced with the early pace between horses, dueled inside the winner turn, held a slight advantage late in the bend when called on for some run then could not keep pace, steadily faded down the lane.
