Chart notes
EXPLORA came away in good order, showed speed and led early then lost the advantage at the eleven-sixteenths pole, dropped back some with five furlongs to run then tracked on the outside, ranged up in the three path on the turn, made a bid passing the five-sixteenths pole, was asked in the four path into the stretch, took the lead at the three-sixteenths pole, kicked clear under a left-handed crop outside the furlong marker, drifted in inside that marker and drew away under steady urging to prove much the best. PERCY'S BAR stumbled at the start but broke with the body of the field, settled towards the rear, was roused while saving ground on the turn, moved to the two path late on that bend, was driven into the stretch in the three path while under the crop then moved out in pursuit of the winner and willingly earned the place. GOODALL showed speed between horses then pressed the pace on the outside of MOVIE NIGHT, vied in the two path on the turn, drew even with the leader near the five-sixteenths pole, led into the stretch in the three path, lost the advantage to the winner at the three-sixteenths pole, dropped back into the final furlong and weakened but was clear for the show. SIPPIN PRETTY broke out and hit the gate then bumped twice with WHERE LUCK LIVES, settled towards the back, was roused while going from the inside to the three path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the five path and lacked the needed response. ON TIME GIRL was urged along on the outside at the rear, went around the turn in the three then four path and was no factor. MOVIE NIGHT stumbled at the start but broke with the body of the field, moved up to get the lead at the eleven-sixteenths pole, showed the way on the inside of GOODALL, vied inside on the turn, lost the advantage late on that bend, dropped back into upper stretch and tired. CARMEL COAST broke out then was hustled, settled on the outside, was roused in the four path on the turn, came into the stretch in the five path and failed to respond. WHERE LUCK LIVES stumbled at the start then bumped twice with SIPPIN PRETTY and was taken up off heels, settled off the pace, was urged along in the two to three path on the turn and faltered then was eased in the final furlong but walked off.
