Chart notes
MISS MONICA took control quickly from inside, patiently handled to the quarter pole, coaxed lightly when feeling WELL VERSED bearing down late on the bend, kicked away in upper stretch, padded the lead without asking midstretch, then drew off under hand urging in the last sixteenth. WELL VERSED was closest in pursuit in the early going, put in a mild bid from the two path on the turn, turned away by the winner at the top of the lane and stayed on for a clear second. FOREWARN chased along the rail and was ridden along leaving the backstretch, dropped back on the turn while moving to the two path, steered out past the quarter pole and weakened. ROYAL PEARL was off slow to begin, tracked outside a rival, asked in three path on the turn and tired. MOOBERRY trailed from off the rail up the backstretch, continued at the back staying away from the rail on the turn, went three wide into the lane and was never a factor.
