Chart notes
COACH KRIV broke out and crowded TIMS leaving the start, was off a step slow then settled in the second flight approaching the clubhouse turn, went up to track the pace three wide along the backstretch, bid to the far turn then dueled HOUSEBUSTER DUDE to the quarter marker, battled that foe into the lane, lost the lead nearing the sixteenth-pole, came again into deep stretch and determinedly prevailed. HOUSEBUSTER DUDE away in good order, ceded the early lead then pressed the pace between rivals into the backstretch, vied for the lead into the far turn and dueled COACH KRIV to the quarter marker, battled gamely while inside of that rival into the stretch, held a narrow lead along the rail into the final sixteenth, was outfinished in the final yards but was well clear for second. TIMS crowded at the start, took up and was last away from the gate, made up ground to the backstretch, roused four wide into the far turn, lacked the needed response into the stretch, was no match for the top two late but held clearly for third. COACH RUDY bobbled at the start but away in good order, rated to the first turn then was well placed into the backstretch, chased between rivals nearing the quarter pole, ran along from the inside to upper stretch, couldn't find more to the final sixteenth and weakened. SHOWMANCE hard sent from the gate, vied for the early lead from the inside then took a narrow advantage to the backstretch, set a disputed pace to the half-mile marker, dropped back along the far turn, trailed to upper stretch then gave way in the drive.
