Chart notes
HUMOROUS SAINT broke sharp and set the early pace, held firm around the turn, came two wide entering the head of the lane then drifted to the inside under left handed pressure, steadily widened advantage and kept to task. TARTARIAN tracked the leader along the inside up the backstretch, kept close around the turn, given cue along the rail entering the lane, was forced to tip two wide for a clear path past upper stretch, ran on with response and cleared second best. JAMESONS CHALK was forwardly placed in the opening quarter, chased two wide between around the turn, brushed with CHARLEY PRIDE at the head of the lane, took the inside position mid-stretch and ran along for a share. CHARLEY PRIDE chased three deep around the turn, brushed with JAMESONS CHALK at the head of the lane and had no late kick. PEARCY ROAD raced two wide around the turn, swung four wide into the lane and lacked a needed rally. GIMME A CHANCE was not too far back three wide in opening stages, failed to progress along the rail around the turn and made no headway in the lane.
