Chart notes

MOLTO VIVACE was sent to a clear lead, maintained a margin of a length or two through the turn, then responded when set down in the stretch and held on by a diminishing margin at the wire. LINE TO GAIN was slowest away, then settled at the rear, kept to the inside through the turn and finished with good interest to gain the place. BLACK CANDY dropped back after a level start, was well off the pace for the first quarter mile, advanced into contention past the half, slipped through an opening along the rail into second on the turn, but could not reach the winner and was outfinished for the place. CASANOVA KITTEN tracked inside a rival behind the pacesetter, started to weaken past the quarter pole and faded from contention through the late stages. CALL ME DROSSEL tracked three to four wide, made a three-wide bid through the turn, but came under urging near the quarter pole and lacked the needed response.
