Chart notes
HIGH HONORS prompted HIGH HONORS from along the outside, came four-wide into the stretch then came in nearing the sixteenth pole to bump with ANTHONY THE GREAT and was fully extended to prevail. ANTHONY THE GREAT vied with HIGH HONORS for the lead from along the inside, drifted out entering the stretch then came in nearing the eighth pole to take the path of TAMBOURINE MAN, then came out slightly to bump with HIGH HONORS and just missed in a game try. TAMBOURINE MAN saved ground while being forwardly placed, slipped through entering the stretch, checked nearing the eighth pole when ANTHONY THE GREAT came in then angled out and finished willingly when clear. BIG TOM saved ground while being allowed to settle and rallied late. LUNATICUS prompted the pace racing three-wide, came five-wide into the stretch and weakened. COALDIGGER was unhurried racing two-wide, drifted out during the drive and was not a factor. SOUTHERN SOUL raced in the back of the field, came three-wide into the stretch and failed to menace.
