Chart notes
PURE MADNESS showed the way early in the two path with a pair of rivals to the outside, headed at the half-mile pole, dueled around the far turn, maintained a short lead into the final sixteenth and stubbornly held. CLOUSEAU pressed the pace between rivals then fought on even terms at the half-mile pole, battled outside PURE MADNESS around the far turn and down the lane, fought valiantly to the wire but could not get by. MAGNIFY stalked two wide on the first turn, tugged between on the backstretch, asked two then three wide on the far turn, could not threaten the top pair late but finished a clear third. BERLIN WALL stalked the leaders from inside, lost ground under a ride on the far turn and tired in the lane. SANTARENA attended the pace three deep, dropped back around the far turn and had little left for the stretch run. HONKY TONK HIGHWAY trailed on the inside, lost ground through the second bend, went two wide into the lane and was never a factor.
