Chart notes
LONESOME STEW settled outside a rival, closed in while easing out to the four path on the far turn, grabbed the lead in upper stretch, kicked clear past the eighth pole and was kept busy in deep stretch. CHARLIE'S TO BLAME settled inside, coaxed along in range on the far turn, moved out in upper stretch, gained second midstretch and finished gamely to the wire. FIRST PEACE tracked two to three wide on the first turn outside a rival, rounded the far turn three then four wide, angled widest at the top of the stretch and showed late effort to pick up third. WAR AT SEA sat off the pace outside a rival, came under a ride on the far turn, steered out into the lane and produced a mild rally to round out the superfecta. ARRAKIS reserved in the early going and moved to the inside, saved ground through the far turn, roused in upper stretch and kept on to improve position. TEMPUS VOLAT got crowded to the back leaving the gate, trailed on the inside to the far turn, ran into traffic around the bend, tipped out into the clear, ran into more traffic at the eighth pole, then improved position between rivals in the late stages. MAN AMONG MEN traveled outside a rival near the back of the pack, raced between foes into the far turn, driven two wide into the lane, angled out and improved placings. CENTRODELANTERO stalked from inside, chased two wide leaving the far turn and weakened. MISCHIEF RIVER took control early with a runner to the outside, cleared into the backstretch, headed at the midway point, dueled around the far turn and weakened in the furlong grounds. CAPTAIN CHOOCHIES pressed the leader around the far turn, lost touch for a bit into the backstretch, reengaged and headed the leader at the half-mile pole, dueled into and around the far turn, fought between in upper stretch and weakened. ADIOS COLE traveled on the inside near the back, stayed on the fence to the stretch and was never a factor. MORUNNING stalked in the two path outside a rival, exited the far tur in the three path and tired.
