Chart notes
CAT ON TIME was bumped by BOLD JOURNEY at the start, moved out while urged along in third position, chased in the three to four path on the turn, gained to make a bid at the quarter-pole then spun into the stretch in the five path, took the lead outside the furlong marker, battled outside of two foes into the final sixteenth, fought with the runner-up to the finish and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. OVER AND OLLIE was hustled from the gate, pressed the pace on the outside, vied in the two to three path on the turn, took a slim lead outside the quarter-pole, was asked for his best in the four path into upper stretch, lost the advantage to the winner outside the furlong marker, fought on well to the finish but just missed while able to get the place. ACOUSTIC AVE moved in while hustled to the front, showed the way on the inside of OVER AND OLLIE, vied inside on the turn, lost the lead nearing the quarter-pole, spun into the stretch in the two path, battled inside of the top two into the final furlong, kept on into the final sixteenth but was outfinished while just able to get the show. NAKATOMI had his head turned to the inside at the start and broke a step slow, settled off the pace, was roused in the two to three path on the turn, moved to the four path outside the quarter-pole, was driven into the stretch in the six path, remained on his inside lead while put to a right-handed crop, switched to a left-handed crop inside the furlong marker, swapped to the proper lead outside the sixteenth-pole and finished willingly to just miss the show. BOLD JOURNEY broke out and hit the gate soundly then bumped with CAT ON TIME, dropped back under urging, raced inside to the two path on the turn, swung out to the five path at the quarter-pole then angled out, reached about the nine path inside the three-sixteenths pole and failed to threaten. GUNMETAL was urged along on the outside, dropped back in the four path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the seven path and failed to respond.
