Chart notes
PROVE WORTHY settled while saving ground early on, gained ground into the far turn, rallied from the three path to upper stretch, floated out by NOAHS ARK while gaining on that one approaching the final sixteenth, wore down the game runner-up in the final strides and was up in time to prevail. NOAHS ARK tracked the loose early pacesetter, went up to vie for the lead into the far turn, took command and led to mid-stretch, drifted out to meet the bid of PROVE WORTHY into the final furlong, couldn't hold off the winner in deep stretch and was outfinished for the win, while well clear for second. OUT WORK'N a bit hard to load prior to the start, broke alertly and took early command, set his own pace to the backstretch, came under pressure into the far turn then overtaken approaching the quarter marker, chased from the inside to upper stretch, yielded to the top pair in the drive and was a clear third. ALVIN off a step slow leaving the start, settled outside of rivals along the first turn, trailed to the half-mile pole, lacked the needed response nearing the quarter marker and did not factor in the stretch drive.
