Chart notes
MAX BASE settled at the rear of the main group, raced in second last in the three to four path on the turn, swung out near the center of the course for the drive, rallied outside horses and got up just in time. READY TO RIDE tracked the leading trio early, got up to the lead past CLEARLY CAJUN and FIRST FLAME into the turn, turned back a bid from DR. DEAN near the quarter pole, kept on through midstretch but was caught at the wire. MY TOUCH settled near the rear early, chased three wide around the turn and into upper stretch, angled out in upper stretch, finished well between horses in the final furlong but missed the place. FIRST FLAME dueled outside of CLEARLY CAJUN early, tracked between horses on the turn after READY TO RIDE took the lead, shifted inward in upper stretch, and chased on evenly inside. BAYOU TIME soon trailed, raced in the three path on the turn, drifted out under a drive in upper stretch and passed tiring horses. DR. DEAN unseated the rider while loading and briefly got loose, broke near the rear but gradually improved position down the backstretch, was driven for a three wide rally on the turn, loomed approaching the quarter pole, drifted out in upper stretch and weakened between horses. CATALINA CLASSIC attended behind the leading pair early, chased inside foes around the turn and into the lane, and gradually flattened. MAKING NOISE chased toward the rear of the main field down the backstretch and while racing between horses on the turn, swung four wide into the lane and had no rally. CLEARLY CAJUN dueled early inside of FIRST FLAME, briefly shook to a narrow lead, was passed by READY TO RIDE into the bend, tracked the pace around the turn and came up empty inside in the lane.
