Chart notes
SPOILER raced in the three path early on the first turn, moved to the four path briefly to avoid a checking foe later on that bend then dropped back to the three path, settled outside on the backstretch, was urged along passing the nine-sixteenths pole, gained with a half-mile to run, chased in the three then four path on the far turn, made a bid late on that bend, took the lead into upper stretch, battled outside of the runner-up into the final sixteenth, bobbed heads while alternating in front with that opponent for several strides late and and just held under strong urging. POLAR BEAR PLUNGE established a forward position early, prompted the pace on the outside in the three path, took the lead outside the five-sixteenths pole, was asked near the quarter-pole, lost the advantage to the winner into upper stretch, fought on gamely inside of that foe under a left-handed crop into the final sixteenth, alternated on the lead while bobbing heads for several strides late and was out-nodded on the wire while clear for the place. SHIPSATIONAL saved ground on the first turn, was coaxed along in a good position on the backstretch, dropped back under stronger encouragement near the half-mile pole, saved ground on the far turn, chased the top two in the stretch and lacked the needed kick while well clear for the show. EXPENSIVE CUT showed speed on the inside of a foe while along the rail, tossed his head and checked repeatedly while inside to the two path on the first turn, settled on the backstretch, was urged along in the two then three path on the far turn and came up empty. INTERLOCK EMPIRE moved from the inside to the two path on the first turn, was reserved off the pace, came under urging late on the backstretch, shifted from the two path to the four path on the final turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and failed to respond. FEVER NIGHT went to the front, dropped from the two path to the inside early on the first turn, showed the way down the backstretch, was asked under threat while inside on the far turn, lost the advantage to the runner-up outside the five-sixteenths pole and faded. AMEDEUS MUSIC was last away then urged from the gate, raced in the three path on the first turn, was urged along towards the rear, dropped from the four path to the two path on the far turn and faltered then was eased but walked off.
