Chart notes
SHOOT THE NICKEL a bit fractious in the gate prior to the start, chased four then three wide coming under coaxing three furlongs out, angled out nine wide into upper stretch, rallied to issue a challenge inside the final furlong taking command nearing the sixteenth pole, then edged away to the finish kept to task. PRINCIP stumbled at the start and then lost his lane to KUNSHAN BRIDGE and NORWICH, chased two to three wide patiently handled until let out spinning five to six wide into upper stretch, angled in nearing the sixteenth marker and kicked on belatedly to secure the place honors. NORMANDY COAST chased five paths off the inside down the backstretch until tucked to the three path with half mile to run, came under coaxing with seven-sixteenths remaining, went eight wide into upper stretch and ran on to the finish. KUNSHAN BRIDGE coaxed from the gate, prompted the leader and his main presser from the outside four wide coming under coaxing three furlongs from home, tipped five wide into upper stretch, seized command nearing the eighth pole, dug in under threat and was collared nearing the sixteenth pole, then kept on to the wire. NORWICH was tossing his head mildly when the latch was sprung and was coaxed from the gate, pressed the pace of GRAYWING from the outside three wide between rivals coming under urging with five-sixteenths remaining, tipped three to four wide into upper stretch and seized narrow and brief command straightened away before being overthrown from command inside the three-sixteenths by the aforementioned foe, then weakened in the late stages. GRAYWING established the front near the six furlong marker and showed the way from the two path under pressure from a pair of rivals to the outside through swift splits, got ridden along with five-sixteenths to run, cornered just off the inside into upper stretch and yielded the front straightened away, then tired through to the finish. TIZMARKUS coaxed from the gate, chased three then two wide under a ride from three furlongs out, went three to four wide into upper stretch and faltered in the drive. TIMAEUS five then four wide in pursuit, got pushed along at the three-eighths pole, angled seven to eight wide into upper stretch, folded and was eased home through the final furlong.
