Chart notes

MERONEY stalked the leader up the backstretch, continued around the turn in the two path, challenged entering the stretch to kick clear, and veered out sharply at the wire but managed to avoid mishap and hold the win. BODENHEIMER pressed the pace on the outside early, dueled from the two path coming around the bend and into upper stretch, could not go with the winner in the final furlong and chased that rival on to the wire from there. CREW DRAGON raced off the pace on the outside through the opening quarter, navigated the bend from the three path and improved position in late stretch. PAT'S PADDOCK PICK led the way on the inside up the backstretch, saved ground around the turn, dueled in upper stretch and weakened in the final eighth of a mile. ARROGANCY raced off the pace on the inside up the backstretch, saved ground around the bend and made no bid. SHEPHERD veered out at the start, trailed the field throughout, continued around the turn in the two path and was never a factor.
