Chart notes

FRENCHMAN JAMES stalked the leader to midway on the turn, rallied with a steady advance three wide to close the gap, assumed command in upper stretch from the tiring leader and drew away. ALABAMA SLEEPER was well placed racing in tandem with the winner down the backside, could not keep pace with that one while chasing him home and held the place over the late closer. TRIPLE MAX slow early to be the trailer and rallied well in the lane with a belated bid to just miss the place while finishing best of the rest. STILLBILLY went evenly in mid-pack failing to menace. SO GRAND rushed the gate lunging to pop it open prematurely before the balance of the fields' doors opened, sped off to a clear lead on quick pace, held the advantage to upper stretch and wilted. VIOLIN FINGERS raced near the rear of the field into the turn, bore out badly early on the bend and showed some late interest after straightening away. KING OF SWORDS reared reacting to the outside rival popping the gates early, lost his spot when inside rival broke out to the vacant space, bumping this one and was never a factor failing to overcome trouble at the break. THE STEWARDS POSTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE START AND UPON REVIEW MADE NO CHANGES.
