Chart notes
WHISPER ROAR was sent to the early lead, angled to the two path before the turn, surrendered the advantage to TROPANDHAGEN on the turn, battled back to regain the lead in upper stretch, then ducked out into the path of the oncoming FLETCHER near the wire. FLETCHER was allowed to settle well off the pace, began to advance when asked approaching the turn, closed strongly on WHISPER ROAR through deep stretch, then took up sharply when that rival ducked into his path near the wire. TROPANDHAGEN was off a step slowly, dropped to the rail near the half-mile pole, advanced through the turn to challenge WHISPER ROAR and briefly gained the advantage, but was unable to match that rival when headed again in upper stretch. BIGDADDYSBOY chased from well back while saving ground, remained inside through the turn and passed a couple of tiring rivals in the stretch. KEEPING THE FAITH broke well and raced forwardly placed while three wide, came under a ride late on the turn but offered little response, failed to change leads in the stretch and faltered. SUNCHILL pressed the early pace under steady handling, began to weaken midway through the turn and faded through the stretch. THE JOCKEY ON #4 FLETCHER LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST #9 WHISPER ROAR ALLEGING INTERFERENCE IN DEEP STRETCH. AFTER A REVIEW #9 WHISPER ROAR was disqualified from 1st and placed 2nd.
