Chart notes
BALNIKHOV (IRE) tucked inside at the back, drew closer on the backstretch and had to pause briefly behind PATH TO POWER (GB) at the half-mile pole, continued along the rail into the far turn, eased over to the two path then swung five wide leaving the bend, stormed to the front at the eighth pole, kicked clear from PATH TO POWER (GB) midstretch and remained strong to the wire. PATH TO POWER (GB) settled in the two path then along the rail on the first turn, altered in a bit from behind STAMP MY PASSPORT at the half-mile pole, pursued the top trio in the two path through the far turn, angled out into the lane, challenged in upper stretch, finished gamely in the final furlong but was outkicked by the winner. NONE ABOVE THE LAW settled three then two wide on the first turn, bid three deep at the half-mile pole, grabbed the lead late on the final turn, put inner pair away in upper stretch while confronted by outer rivals, relinquished the lead at the eighth pole, flattened in the late stages but was able to secure third. STAMP MY PASSPORT tracked in the two path, roused three deep on the second bend, took aim in upper stretch and weakened. AMPLITUDE stalked the lone speed along the rail, challenged for the lead inside a pair of rivals at the half-mile pole, fought along the fence through the far turn, then yielded in upper stretch and faded out of contention. BALLADEER jumped out to the front and opened up a comfortable lead in hand early, showed the way along the inside to the backstretch, challenged by rivals on both sides at the half-mile pole, resisted to the quarter pole, gave the lead up shortly after and folded in the stretch.
