Chart notes
SEA ISLE CITY well placed outside of rivals early on, bid four wide upper stretch, vied into the final furlong, took command to the final sixteenth and proved best. PRACTICAL PATSY settled inside, rallied along the rail to upper stretch, outkicked late by the winner, fought on and got up for the place. PRETTY PATRIOTIC close up two to three wide to the turn, stalked the leading pair approaching the half-mile, rallied and vied for the lead between foes into the stretch, yielded to the top pair late and held safely for the show. ILLUSTRATING settled mid-pack and outside of rivals, swung out and roused five wide to upper stretch, chased within range into the drive, couldn't muster the needed response to the final sixteenth and was outfinished for the minor awards. EPIC ELEGANCE settled between foes early then saved ground to the turn, angled out for the stretch drive, lacked the needed response to deep stretch but improved position late. SHE KNOWS BETTER crowded at the start and last away from the gate, settled while saving ground into the turn, shifted out for the stretch drive and passed tiring rivals in the late stages. IGNORING ALANA drifted out leaving the start and crowded outer rivals early, settled in the second flight then lost position along the turn, couldn't match strides while three to four wide to upper stretch and faltered in the drive. MEASUREMENT crowded an inner rival at the start, rushed up and contested the early pace between rivals, disputed the pace two wide then took command and led to upper stretch, couldn't hold off oncoming rivals at the furlong grounds and faded in the drive. AMERICAN DESTINY had speed from the gate and showed the way to the turn, stalked MEASUREMENT nearing the half-mile marker then chased that one two wide to upper stretch, vied between foes to the final furlong, couldn't find more late and gave way. MADISON MOON shut off soon after the start, settled to the turn, angled widest to upper stretch and failed to threaten late. DAGNY TAGGART broke out at the start, void of early speed, trailed to upper stretch, no factor. DREAM WAVE settled three wide and between rivals, raced in tight into the turn and steadied while on heels nearing the half-mile marker, lacked the needed response to upper stretch then came up empty in the drive.
