Chart notes
DIRTY WORDS settled mid-pack to begin, roused three wide into the turn, bid from the four to five path to upper stretch, took command inside of the three-sixteenths, drew away to the final sixteenth then was geared down late while in hand. TAPALO took an awkward start leaving the gate and was last early, swung to the five then six path to upper stretch, couldn't impact the winner in the late stages but fought on in deep stretch to be second best. ATOMIC DROP close up in the early running, stalked from the outside of BLACK MAGICIAN heading into the turn, vied for the lead from the three to four path and between rivals into upper stretch, overtaken by the winner approaching the final sixteenth, yielded to the top pair late and held safely for third. SHORTMAN broke a step slowly, settled outside of runners approaching the turn, swung widest to upper stretch and coaxed from the six to seven path into the lane, needed more in the stretch drive and passed tiring rivals late. COME OUT FIGHTING settled in the second flight, was well placed into the turn, chased from the inside to upper stretch, ran in pursuit to the furlong grounds then weakened. BLACK MAGICIAN showed good speed from the start, took early command and set the pace from the inside into the turn, drifted to the two then three path into upper stretch, was overtaken into the stretch drive then faded in the final furlong. DES DOIGTS hustled from the gate, chased the early pace from the inside, dropped back along the turn and tired in the drive.
