Chart notes

EPIC AFFAIR sat just off the fence having only a couple of runners beaten in the early stages, edged up smartly in hand inside of rivals around the bend, forced her way through making a seam three wide taking the corner, took over control with little urging by the furlong pole and won very comfortably at the finish line under only a hand ride. GLORIOUS GEM was unhurried near the rear having only the distant trailed beaten in the early stages, started to come with a run picking up the bit shifting out four wide at the three eighths pole starting to circle around foes, swung out widest in the seven-path closing steadily on the outside in upper stretch but could not match strides with the winner who had plenty left in the final furlong. HUMBLE AND KIND emerged from the pack getting loose on the fence in mid-backstretch setting an honest pace, rolled along uncontested around the turn, had the two path still up top at the head of the lane, had no answer when the winner drove past coming up to the eighth pole and faded slightly inside losing the place share while running on to be a clear third at the wire. ANY OSCAR settled on the outside of another in midfield down the back straight, kept pace outside of runners midway around the turn, had the six path in tight between rivals getting bounced around at the three sixteenths pole, stubbornly fought back in the final furlong and finished up to capture a small share in the end. KLASSEN broke out bobbling slightly at the start, sat well placed on the fence stalking the frontrunner down the backside, continued to give chase two wide around the bend, closed the gap with seven sixteenths to run, had the three path being pushed out to four wide in upper stretch by the eventual winner and could only run on one paced in the last furlong just getting picked up late losing a minor award. CLASSIC LINES was in tandem with an outside foe in the middle of the pack, travelled three wide on the turn but was losing ground to rivals at the seven sixteenths pole, angled out to the five path between horses turning for home but could not offer a finishing kick in the last eighth of a mile. GINNY'S SOUPER brushed the inside of the gate having a very tardy start, was uninterested swishing her tail, short striding spotting the field by many down the backstretch, still lagged well behind the group in the throughout the turn but did finish up with some late interest reaching for more ground narrowing the margin on the pack in the late stretch running.
