Chart notes
GHOSTFACE was forwardly-positioned stalking the pace, applied some pressure past the half, lost ground on the leader leaving the turn, shifted out a path to be four wide at the quarter pole under urging with aim on the leader, ground on steadily and got up inside the final sixteenth. SUNNY'S RAINBOW bumped the inside rival lightly at the start then moved sharply to soon take the lead, set the pace just in the clear, received outside pressure past the half-mile marker, shook clear of that one leaving the turn, drifted just slightly in the stretch, fought on but was outfinished. BUNYAN broke alertly then settled into stride off the leaders racing mid-pack outside foes into the turn, travelled three to four wide on that bend and encouraged along past the three-eighths, came into upper stretch six wide, gained well but too late. TRUE NORTH STAR was bumped at the start, made a swift early advance outside foes to race outside the second flight into the turn just off the leading pair, went three wide on that bend, came into upper stretch five wide, went evenly late. MERCKX tracked from inside just off and in behind the leader, failed to make a late bid. CLASSY GUEST hopped then was lightly bumped at the start, received urging but lacked early speed racing inside at the rear into the turn, saved ground, came out gradually through the stretch to be nine wide past the furlong marker and improved position outside. SAMARITAN TRAIL broke inwardly then corrected immediately, raced off the pace between foes from the five- and one-half till the top of the stretch coming out five wide at that juncture, ran on evenly. APPOINTED TALENT chased from between runners close to the early lead, dropped back a bit leaving the backstretch still chasing from off the rail, continued to weaken in the stretch and made no bid. JACK SPARROW switched out off the rail early, pursued from mid-pack inside runners, appeared a bit rank in behind passing the five- and one-half then again near the five-sixteenths, swung four wide into upper stretch then shifted in for room, ran on without threatening. TIZ A QUEST was between foes at the rear into and on the turn racing two to three wide, came into upper stretch five deep, was never near enough to threaten. ARKIN bumped a rival at the start, raced outside foes at the rear going three to four wide on the turn, was six deep at the quarter pole and never near enough to threaten.
